I agree and have first hand experience with the fact That whole house fans have saved our home owners association a HUGE amount of money on our buildings energy costs.
The installation company suburbanfan installed a whole house fan at the top of each of our stairways. They put a computer controlled timer that allows us to turn the fans on or off when we want.
So we have the fans turn on around 6AM and run until 8AM then have them turn on automatically again around 6PM and leave them on until 9PM.
We have realized a 80% reduction in operating costs compared to the previous year.
Plus it exhausts the attic without having to cut any holes on the roof !
This type of energy savings should be discussed at least annually for every homeowners associations.
Very Smart-
